On April 26th at 7pm ET/PT Global TV’s own Dawna Friesen will be featured in one hour special, where she shares her wrenching emotional and intimate journey. Her voice joins millions of family members who’ve watched helplessly as a loved one has slowly, inexorably disappeared in the grip of a condition that destroys the mind.

In this powerful hour, 16×9 visits the world of dementia over a single 48 hour period, touching down on three continents featuring the Netherlands, Thailand and Canada for an up-close look at how families are struggling to care for their loved ones suffering from a condition with no cure.

  1. I never send comments on shows but this one really touched my heart, I found myself crying As I watched Donna trying to communicate with her mom and dad. six years ago I lost my husband who had dementia S we’ll as being a number one diabetic and multiple myeloma. As I watched him slowly leave me I at. Least was able to visit him daily and he recognized all his family. this is something Donna can’t do, it made me realize how lucky I was to be so close and not thousands of miles away continually wondering if the dreaded phone call will come and how their last days were spent, were they happy . Keep your chin up Donna, we all have to come to appreciate we can only live one day at a time , we all have things to look forward to , your son’s progress into manhood and beyond is a priority for you as well as all the happy memories you can share with him. I watch your news every day and will be listening for. Progress on your parents we all seem to feel better when the sun shines , grass turns green and flowers and trees start to show off their beautiful colours, we have months ahead to enjoy this wonderful show of nature. kindest regards.
